Hydrotherapy services

Our canine hydrotherapy centre at Doggy Paddles Canine Country Retreat, is the one of its kind on the Isle of Wight and offers great health benefits to dogs of all breeds and ages.

Pooch-friendly pool

Our centre features a pool which is sunk into the ground for easy access via a ramp. This allows the dogs to enter at their own pace and pleasure. We use the safest active oxygen system treated water, heated to 28 degrees to achieve maximum benefits.

How safe is it?

During the session we accompany the dog in the pool to ensure safety and comfort at all times.

Our staff are specially trained and include an experienced veterinary nurse.

What are the benefits?

Many breeds of dog struggle with joint-related pain and degenerative conditions.

Hydrotherapy offers an exercise alternative which may be far more comfortable and effective for your dog than walking or running.

Hydrotherapy may help with:

  • Degenerative conditions
  • Recovery from surgery
  • Arthritis, stiffness and old age
  • Obesity, spine deterioration
  • Back, joint, muscle problems,
  • Broken bones
  • Hip and elbow dysplasia
  • Strokes, behavioural issues
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • And it’s fun too!

As well as offering benefits such as rehabilitation and fitness, hydrotherapy can also be great fun for you and your dog!

And because your dog really focuses in the water, it’s a great way to help with some behavioural problems too!

Every dog hydrotherapy programme is individually designed with your dog's needs in mind. It's a great way to burn off excess energy with a total body workout too.
